Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the treatment and prevention of injuries and movement problems, as well as education and prevention measures to help patients gain the highest possible level of independent function.
A physiotherapist will:
- Assess range of motion, strength and gross motor skills
- Train support staff in handling, positioning and exercise programs
- Recommend respiratory techniques to help with airway clearance
- Train support staff on recommendations to increase the client’s function
- Assess and prescribe manual wheelchair seating
- Assess the use of special devices, orthotics and adaptive equipment
