News from Volunteer Services
This has been another busy sumer for volunteer services.
All weekday shifts have been completely full and volunteers have been plentiful on evenings and weekends, as well.
We held our 1st Annual Sumer Potluck, which was attended by more than 60 volunteers and staff. There was so much food leftover that we had to drag people from the cafeteria and other parts of the building to come and eat!
We would like to thank the volunteers who came in on their summer holidays to help with our programs - it is bittersweet to say goodbye to all of you as summer comes to an end. We had one of our best summers yet and look forward to seeing you next year. And, to those who continue with us year round, you rock!
A huge thanks also goes out to the staff and volunteers who donated shoes for the "Shoe to Renew" drive. We just sent our last batch of shoes to the Philippines and are so grateful for each day that shoes were left at our door.
We will shortly be recruiting "winter elves" and will need to recruit a high number of volunteers for this new opportunity - we will keep you posted!
